Al Fajer and ADFORUM in partnership to expand Paper Arabia footprint to Europe and America
Agreement will give shot in the arm for region’s paper industry that is set to be self-reliant in five years
Dubai, UAE, xx January, 2012: An international expert in pulp and paper industry has said that the GCC paper industry is on its way to becoming self-reliant in less than five years.
Mr Marcus Bergström, CEO of Adforum, the organiser of some of the world’s largest pulp and paper events, said this while signing a deal with Mr Satish Khanna, General Manager of Al Fajer Information & Services, organiser of Paper Arabia, the only exhibition in Middle East for paper industry.
The partnership aims to expand the footprint of Paper Arabia to European and American markets. Paper Arabia 2012 will be held from 1-3 October at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Bergström added: “This agreement really strengthens our portfolio and I am pleased that Adforum can now offer another important trade show to our customers. The Middle East is an exciting and upcoming market for many of the companies we know.”
Adforum will be the overseas associate for Paper Arabia in Europe and Russia, as well as North and South America following this agreement.
Khanna said: “Teaming up with Adforum is an excellent and strategic move for Al Fajer, and this will make Paper Arabia a bigger and better show. Adforum has the right experience and contacts to get European and American companies to exhibit in Dubai in the next edition of the show.”
Founded in 1968, Adforum organises some of the world’s largest pulp and paper events, such as SPCI (Stockholm), PulPaper (Helsinki) and China Paper (Beijing/Shanghai), as well as IPX India (Mumbai) and IPX Russia (Moscow). Adforum is owned by Stockholm International Fairs and the Finnish Fair Corporation.
Khanna added: “This agreement will effectively contribute to the development of the paper, printing and packaging industry in the GCC by brining best international practices here with the support of Adforum. The paper industry in the GCC has seen major developments over the past few years and with the exponential rise in its growth potential, leading local and regional players are now in the midst of strategic investment and market expansion.”
Paper Arabia, the international exhibition for the paper, tissue and converting industries, held its 4th successful edition in 2011, attracting some 126 exhibitors and nearly 6,200 visitors from 74 countries.
Al Fajer Information & Services was established in 1973 and is now the market leading exhibition organiser and provider of exhibition services in the Middle East. The company currently organises and manages some premier shows in Dubai and has some 25 international exhibitions in seven countries in its portfolio, as well as offices and agent networks worldwide.
